IN A NUTSHELL.
Denese is a Dreamweaver when it comes to interior design. She gets into her client’s heads, understands their needs and their problems, and presents big ideas and solutions they could never imagine. Her fun, energetic and lighthearted personality allows her to connect with her clients and get them out of their comfort zones to make big and bold choices. After working for several years in the demanding fashion industry, Denese was first exposed to the interior design world working at a luxury textile design company where she gained a deep knowledge of the fabrics’ construction and usage, as well as the in’s and out of interior design. From there, she received rave reviews for her design of an acquaintance’s PR firm in NYC. Referrals came pouring in and Denese decided to launch her own design firm “The Perfect Vignette”, tackling both commercial and residential spaces. Since starting her own company, she has been named in multiple magazines as “Top Black Designers You Should Be Following.”
Born into a family boasting several generations of builders and artists, Mike grew up in the construction business. All throughout childhood, Mike’s dad would take Mike to work sites. But rather than going the straight GC route, Mike began to specialize in design / build projects after college, everything from smaller jobs to ground up builds in Manhattan, to completing an expansion at Gillette Stadium. At The Perfect Vignette, Mike is the mastermind when it comes to bringing the function and flow back into residential homes. Like a mad scientist, he can completely reconfigure floor plans to make room for whatever the client desires, all while keeping the exterior charm. In 2019, Mike and Denese moved from Jersey City New Jersey to Boston with their three boys, Ellis (7), Felix (5), and Luca (3) to be closer to their families. Now, Mike and Denese work with their fathers, both carpenters and GCs, to make each project really special.
